How can I become fluent in English? Follow these eight easy tips to make your English sound more fluent starting today.
You can probably stand in front of the mirror and ask some questions to yourself, answer them aloud in English.
There will be a set of questions that are typically asked in interviews, write down the answers for them. After some time, say 1 or 2 hours later read it out again. First of all, does it make sense to you? Are you able to understand the meaning of your answer? Or, you may have to rephrase it and read it again after some time. You will find the mistakes when you read them after some time.
Don’t write or speak one big sentence. Always try to put the answer into multiple small sentences.
The first sentence should always set the context.
In a short span of time, you may not be able to correct your English grammar, you will have to take it as a long-term plan. So, conveying the message will take precedence over grammatically correct English for now.
When you feel that you don’t have enough words to frame a sentence, wait for a few seconds/maybe a minute, frame the answer in your mind, and start giving out the answer. The interviewer will wait, they don’t want to reject some talented person just because they are not very fast in response. This is better than giving an absurd answer immediately after the question is asked.
The pause should be a real pause and should not be a prolonged one. Say for eg., You should not say, “This one aa”. Instead, you can say, “This one is” give a pause and then continue once you get the right word.
In general, this may not be for your interview, in conversations, try avoiding questions like, “It is done-aa?”. There is nothing like questions ending with “aa?”. You should ask, “Is it done?”.
Believe in what you have (your knowledge), there are other things to concentrate on when it comes to interviews (your dressing/ your confidence, etc). Take care of all of them. All the best!
