What is the writer’s block?
“Writer ‘s block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work, or experiences a creative slowdown. The condition ranges from difficulty in coming up with original ideas to being unable to produce a work for years. Throughout history, writer’s block has been a documented problem.” – Wikipedia.
What causes writer’s block?
Your Expectations Are Too High and want it to be perfect.
You are too tired to think, You’re exhaust! and burned out.
You don’t want to fail and fear of no one likes it.
You have lost passion and creativities.
You have lost your way and connection with the character.
You are too busy at other things and distracted.
Maya Angelou explained in the book Writers Dreaming:
“I suppose I do get ‘blocked’ sometimes but I don’t like to call it that. That seems to give it more power than I want it to have. What I try to do is write. I may write for two weeks ‘the cat sat on the mat, that is that, not a rat,’ you know. And it might be just the most boring and awful stuff. But I try. When I’m writing, I write. And then it’s as if the muse is convinced that I’m serious and says, ‘Okay. Okay. I’ll come.’”
