‘Has’ is a verb in the present tense on any given day. Its past equivalent is ‘had’. Now to develop a clear understanding of ‘has’, it needs to be studied in both its avatars, as the main verb and as a helping verb. Observe:
As the main verb has implied possessing or owning something. Observe some examples:
The sentences illustrate that has as the main verb is used in the present tense and only along with He/She/It/Name, in the positive sentences. In the negative and interrogative sentences however, the same has will change to have. Observe:

It is used when something occurred in the recent past and is still in action. Observe a sentence in all 3 forms.
