The story in plain English
Read the claim—and then read the detail
Market Lane says it was founded in Melbourne in 2009 and operates as a specialty roaster and café business. Its public pages describe small-batch roasting and environmental commitments.
A phrase such as carbon neutral sounds simple, but a careful reader asks about the measurement period, business boundary, reductions and any offsets. A certification claim should link to a current certifying body or verifiable record.
This does not mean every claim is wrong. It means strong reading involves curiosity: who made the statement, what exactly is covered, when was it checked and what evidence is available?
Useful English
“What part of the business does this environmental claim cover, and when was it verified?”
